Sharon and Jaya's Wedding ― Reception

In lieu of gifts Sharon and I want to have a big party with all our friends. Since we can't afford to throw one, we need you to chip in and help make it happen. People are needed to take responsibility for various aspects of the reception. If most people bring something we should be able to pull this off without incurring a major financial burden.

Areas of Responsability

To volunteer for one of the following areas just call or email us, we will list you here so everyone knows who to go to with questions and such.

Pot Luck

This day is very special to Sharon and Jaya, we want you to share something special with us and all our friends and family. Food.

But what should I bring?

Everyone has a couple of food items that they associate with warm loving occasions. The pie that Aunt Bea made every Sunday after church, the special wedding cookies from the old country, tuna casserole like Mama used to make, real Italian pasta made from scratch by Uncle Carmine, shrimps on the bar-b, ...

We expect some of our guests to talk to the Grill Master and then supply some meat and vegetables to be cooked during the reception. There could be some nice marinades available if the Grill Master has enough advanced notice of your intentions.

Please make a sign/label that explains:

  1. Name of dish
  2. Ingredients
  3. Recipe (optional, will be published in our wedding website unless otherwise requested)
  4. Cook (who put this fine dish together today)
  5. Identify potential issues for some of our guests:

Some people have expressed the desire to chip in cash for the BBQ fund. Great, tell Pete St. Pierre how much cash you will bring and he will do the shopping.

If you don't have the band width or interest to bring a favorite/special dish then volunteer to help with one of the tasks listed above. We don't want to see any SafeWay deli platters or chips and salsa (with the notable exception of homemade salsa from Cyndy or Ky).
